James Joyce:
Your Neighborhood Pub in The Annex
Live Music and Daily Specials Make the James Joyce Your Neighborhood Pub in The Annex
Named in honour of the noted Irish novelist, The James Joyce is a Traditional Irish Pub featuring live music 365 nights a year, usually beginning at 10 pm and featuring mostly local talented artists playing anything from Celtic-style music to mainstream hits-they also have a regular open mic with prizes for top performers-collaboration is encouraged. Food is served until 2am every night, with fast and friendly service regardless of how busy it is. The pub, with its long wooden bar and laid-back surroundings has been around for 15 years, and has been frequented by famous East Coast musicians and celebrities like George Stroumboulopoulos. Domestic pints are just $4.50, and there are daily specials that appeal to everyone, especially the nearby University of Toronto students. On Mondays, there is a discount on all Millstreet pints, and Irish Stew and Irish drinks cost a dollar less every Tuesday. Every other day offers both food and drink specials. Wednesdays; house pints and shooter and half price chili & shepherd’s pie, Thursdays cheap martinis & Amsterdam pints, half price Wings & nachos, Fridays cocktail pitcher special, half price fish & chips & Meatloaf, Saturdays Steamwhistle special & $10 Appetizers & Dips Platter, and on Sunday, cheap domestic bottles and half price Appetizers. Belfast Breakfast served 11am-6pm weekends. There are 16 beers on tap, pool tables, giant TV screens, Setanta Sports and free WiFi. There is now a James Joyce in Etobicoke, which offers all the same kinds of specials and live entertainment.
